Private Lessons
Collaborate on Your Musical Goals
Student-Centric Instruction
With a focus on accelerated learning techniques, RMI offers an individualized curriculum through private lessons. Students also have opportunities to meet and play with other musicians in our classes and player’s clubs.
6 days a week RMI has a wide range of instructors, specializing in all styles. Visit the instructor profiles for more information about the teachers. We have students of all ages and levels from beginning to professional. We offer private lessons in guitar, bass, composition, drums, piano, songwriting, vocals, ukulele, harmonica, and mandolin.
Lessons can be either ½ hr (30 minutes) or 1 hr (60 minutes). This one-on-one format is great for custom tailoring a program around your needs. Many students will often take a ½ hr private session along with a 60-minute Performance Band session per week to create a more well-rounded approach to their education.
Lessons can either occur weekly or more sporadicly as one-offs depending on the students preference. View Pricing and Policy details here.
You can also take private lessons online via Skype!

I’m brand new to the electric guitar and Scott is incredibly gifted, encouraging and very patient. Everyone who works there are extremely friendly and the enthusiasm is contagious. In just a short period of time, I went from feeling absolutely hopeless to confident that I can learn how to play the guitar. All of the instructors that I’ve personally met (Scott and Brandon) are both awesome people and gifted musicians who love what they do.
Jay, the owner, is one of the nicest people with a ready smile and always takes the time to speak to you. I’m so happy that there is such a top notch music school in the area and they have instructors for several instruments. They also will work with you to form a band if you’re interested in jamming with other students.
I would have expected to experience sticker shock for my lessons given the high reputation of the school and the skill of the instructors but it is very affordable. I used to pay more for a personal trainer at the gym!
I cannot recommend RMI enough and encourage anyone who has always wanted to learn an instrument to check them out. It’s never too late!
Jay and all the instructors at RMI are top notch. A wonderful community where you can explore all genres of music both privately and through group lessons and ensemble performance groups. Jump on the quarterly calendar and try out an exciting new style and meet a lot of great fellow musicians at frequent performances at local venues.
I am having the most fun ever learning how to sing Properly form Brandon. RMI is helping me to reveal a facet of myself that I did not know about! I highly recommend Roberts Music Institute – Jay is enlightening to talk to about music – and the entire staff’s enthusiasm is a joy.
RMI was instrumental, literally, in my music career comeback. The wonderful teachers, Jay, Don, Tim & Steve & the players all afforded me a wonderful opportunity to interact with other musicians in a creative & positive way. I couldn’t recommend the experience enough.
