Legacy
Founders
Mom, Dad and Don
“In the late 70’s Don Mock and my father, Howard Roberts, started the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. Both Don and my dad really knew what it took to get a student to the next level of playing and musicianship. In 2004, after my father’s passing, my mother, Jill, and I teamed up to build the vision of what RMI is today. With the insight, inspiration and guidance of Don Mock, RMI became a reality, and has shared the joy of music through private lessons and band performances for over 14 years. This school is an extension of my father’s legacy; his approach to learning is instilled throughout all of our programs, and his curriculum and passion for music remain at it’s core.”

Past Student Success Stories
Over the years RMI has had many students that have followed their dreams and continued on to pursue the life of a professional musician. Many went directly to music colleges like The Berklee College of Music, The New School, USC, The Musicians Institute and Juilliard with scholarships. Others went straight on the road and started touring with bands.
Here are the names of a few that you can hear on youtube and see on Facebook; Jim Allchin, Caspian Coberly, Sadie Norkin, Zane Taylor, Alex Douthitt.
