RMI’s classes are all divided into quarters.
Quarters all run for ten weeks. The best way to pick a class is to go to the weekly schedule for this quarter or the next quarter and find the class that fits with your interests and your schedule. Classes are scheduled quarterly and you can sign up for private lessons at any time. Here are links to the weekly schedules for each quarter:
- Winter, January 2nd to March 10th
- Spring, March 26th to June 9th
- Summer, June 25th to September 1st
- Fall, September 23rd to December 1st
RMI offers several learning formats.
Ensembles: All students are encouraged to join an ensemble to develop their skills as a performer and play in a band environment. Ensemble bands typically consist of 4 to 6 musicians, and are open to all instruments. All bands will perform and record a show! We have ensembles for the blues, jazz, metal, classic rock as well as 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s ensembles. There are also ensemble that focus on a single band’s music. Some ensembles are also divided by age group. See all ensembles.
Group Classes: Students work with an instructor and focus on their area of interest. We offer a wide range of classes that focus on technique, the blues, fusion, rock, acoustic, theory, and more. See all classes.
Private Lessons: 6 days a week RMI has a wide range of instructors, specializing in all styles. Check out our instructors to find a teacher that interests you.
Lessons are ½ hr (30min) or 1 hr. The one on one format is good for custom tailoring a program around your needs. Many students prefer a ½ hr private and a 75 minute Ensemble per week, to fulfill a well rounded approach.
