Sadie has been attending Roberts Music Institute for the past five years, studying under several teachers. Once she had decided to audition for Berklee, Sadie was prepped by her current teacher, Lucien LaMotte, through the RMI College Preparatory Program.

Sadie’s been playing guitar since she was 10 years old and has been performing ever since she came to RMI. Given the chance to see her in action, you would think she’s been performing for a LOT longer than five years! Check out Sadie playing some cover tunes and even some originals on Youtube.

Good Luck Sadie!

Music by Caspian Coberly & Art by Aaron Coberly

Caspian Coberly is an 11 year old guitarist and songwriter. He has been obsessed with music and specifically guitars since he was a baby. Caspian began studying with Jay Roberts at the age of 5, and was performing live by the time he was 6. His first live performance featured him on guitar and vocals, doing Nirvana’s “Smells like Teen Spirit”. The rest of his band mates were adults.

In the ensuing years Caspian has had the honor of opening for the legendary Buddy Guy and steel guitar virtuoso Robert Randolph, as well as performing with Lee Oskar of War, British blues sensation Davy Knowles, and many others. He has performed for Alan White of YES, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Don Wilson of The Ventures, Michael Wilton of Queensryche, various members of Heart, and Randy Piper of WASP.

Caspian is in 6th grade at Rose Hill Elementary. He also loves basketball, and drawing with his dad, artist Aaron Coberly.

Aaron Coberly is a Seattle artist whos work has been shown and published internationally. Most recently Aaron was profiled in the October issue of ” American Art Collector Magazine”. He is represented by The Fountainhead Gallery on Queen Anne Hill. Further work can be seen at aaroncoberly.com

Aaron is married, and father to guitarist and songwriter Caspian Coberly.

In an unprecedented event today (3-15-12) a truck full of guitars arrived at Roberts Music Institute from U.S. manufacturer GIBSON GUITARS. The “Lending Library” allows any of RMI’s students to check out different models of Gibson Guitars to experience playability and tonal differences in the models.

RMI’s founder Jay Roberts is an internationally acclaimed guitarist whose father Howard was a longtime Gibson endorsed guitarist. Howard started a series of revolutionary guitar seminars throughout the sixties and seventies and started Guitar Institute of Technology in L.A. as well.

Upon Howards passing in 1992 Jay Roberts founded Roberts Music Institute in Bellevue, WA and he and Seattle guitarist Don Mock carry on Howard’s teaching around the globe. RMI teaches over 10,000 lessons per year at their facility in Bellevue, Wa. and is the premier educational institute for artists with a high focus on performance art.

The Gibson-RMI relationship continues a legacy that started with Howard Roberts and now further blossoms with RMI as the only Gibson endorsed school in the nation. Jay and Don will be on tour conducting a variety of RMI Seminars and related events worldwide.

Gibson is one of the oldest U.S. based guitar manufacturer started in 1894 and all products are made using U.S. workers at their factory in Nashville, TN . RMI is extremely honored to be representing Gibson and the workers they employ. The Lending Library will be a great addition to the RMI arsenal and will support NW Gibson dealers in showcasing Gibson products.
